Off field, the club's exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.

The GIANTS' AFL and AFL Women's teams are based at the club's elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

Description:

This is a 12-month fixed term contract role, with the possibility of extension.

Position Purpose

The Media & Content Coordinator - Netball Lead is a passionate and proactive operator responsible for delivering the content strategy, media operations and storytelling of the GIANTS Netball brand.

The role manages the day-to-day delivery of engaging digital and social content, while also coordinating all media activity including requests, press opportunities, and public relations.

The role will work in conjunction with the Video Lead - AFLW and Netball to produce high-quality visual content that enhances the club's storytelling and strengthens audience engagement.

In addition to growing the GIANTS Netball audiences, the role will contribute to broader club initiatives across AFL and AFLW programs during the netball off-season, supporting integrated campaigns and cross-code collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the content strategy and delivery for GIANTS Netball social media accounts
  • Lead media operations for GIANTS Netball, including managing media requests, interviews, and press opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with netball media and journalists.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the GIANTS Netball Business and Administration team.
  • Contribute to drafting and distributing media releases, announcements, and match previews / reports.
  • Assist with EDMs and feature articles.
  • Support broadcast logistics and PR activations on game days and at events.
  • Collaborate on club-wide campaigns during the netball off-season.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Media, Communications and Content team.

Skills and Experiences:

Skills and Knowledge

  • 1-2 years' experience in media, communications, journalism, or public relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and innovative and up to date with social media and industry relevant trends
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work out of hours and weekends, including match days and nominated club events.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Professional, helpful, and efficient manner.
  • Understanding of Netball is ideal, but not essential.
