The AMP Super Business Product Owner is responsible for shaping and executing the AMP Super product vision and strategy across digital and technology platforms. As a key member of the leadership team, the Business Product Owner leads cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, member-centric solutions that drive business growth, enhance member outcomes, and align with the company's strategic goals.

How you'll make an impact

  • Champion customer-centric design and decision-making using data, research, and market trends.
  • Ensure products meet evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements, particularly in superannuation and investment domains.
  • Engage a high-performing cross functional team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and optimisation.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product initiatives, leveraging agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Collaborate with peers, trustees, and external partners to align product initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Represent the product function in board and executive forums, articulating value delivered and future priorities.
  • Drive portfolio financial performance (e.g. net cash flows, ROI) and key customer metrics (eg net customers, activation rates, complaint rates) for the portfolio for agreed journeys.
  • Supporting delivery of the NM Super Trustee Business Plan as it relates to AMP Super members and intermediary (employer, payroll and adviser) strategies. 
  • Collaborate and contribute to division prioritisation discussions to support overall AMP business and member outcomes. This involves complex judgements regarding impact of key AMP Super personal portfolio initiatives against other portfolio initiatives. 
  • Create and use influence strategies to persuade key stakeholders to take action that will advance shared interests and business goals. Including driving performance marketing strategies and analytics. 
  • Engage in and where appropriate, lead, cross-functional strategic initiatives and teams to deliver agreed business outcomes. 
  • In partnership with other areas of AMP, influence the design of the AMP Super value proposition to ensure it is relevant, competitive and will support the portfolio strategy. 
  • Develop strong commercial arrangements with key external partners, such as Flare HR, Employment Hero and/or Super API. 
  • Collaborate and contribute deep market and member expertise to assist Product, Operations, AMPI, External Insurers, Intrafund Advice, Marketing and digital experience to deliver market competitive product and member propositions to effectively compete against key competitors and new offerings to the market. 
  • Lead strategic priorities into operational reality through other teams by aligning communication, accountabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to deliver sustainable results.
  • Lead, manage and monitor adherence to compliance, risk management and governance frameworks to manage Regulatory and Trustee obligations and business and compliance risks. 
  • Collaborate and contribute to issues and incidence identification and rectification as the voice of the personal accumulation member. 
  • Utilising, and where relevant assisting to develop, feedback loops to identify opportunities to continually improve the member, and their advisers, experience. 
  • Lead and support others to seek opportunities for new and different but pragmatic / cost effective approaches to address problems.
  • Set and operate within agreed financial expense targets. 

What you will bring to the team

Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role: 

  • 5+ years technology product ownership experience. 
  • 5+ years' relevant professional and management experience within the Superannuation/Investments industry, relevant regulators (e.g. ASIC and APRA), and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements. 
  • Proven experience to deliver results through others via effective leadership and coaching. 
  • Relevant experience as a senior adviser to Accountable Executives, and experience in being part of a senior leadership team with a focus on providing strategic risk advice and guidance or compliance advice, as well assisting in designing and implementing operational risk controls, controls testing and reporting. 
  • Demonstrated experience in "thinking outside in" – applying competitor and regulatory insights to inform action. 
  • Experience of working with a board of Trustees and delivering to SLA's and performance measures. 
  • Previous experience in writing Board level reporting and preparing management insights.
  • Strong experience in leading and implementing change. 
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in superannuation. 
  • Experience in identifying, assessing and addressing operational and other risks within a superannuation business
