About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Hand/Maintenance professional to join our team at Malek Fahd Islamic School in Beaumont Hills, NSW. This full-time role is an integral part of our operations, responsible for maintaining the school's facilities and grounds to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the school
  • Ensure the school's facilities, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and clean
  • Assist with the set-up and pack-up of school events and functions
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Adhere to all work, health and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, building, or facility management, ideally in an educational or community environment.
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and hazard reporting.
  • Proven ability to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Desirable:

  • Trade qualification or Certificate III in Building Maintenance, Carpentry, or related field.
  • Experience working in a school or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with digital maintenance request or facility management systems.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Additional WHS, manual handling, or chemical safety training.
  • Experience coordinating or liaising with contractors and service providers.
  • Awareness of environmental sustainability and waste management practices.
