Foreman - Civil Construction

About the role

Carruthers Contracting, an industry leader in civil construction in Southeast QLD, is seeking an experienced Foreman to join their team located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including the cost, scheduling and monitoring of work tasks, resource allocation, and project timelines
• Ensure that all construction work is completed safely, in compliance with ISO standards
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address issues and make informed decisions that drive project success
• Provide on-site leadership and mentorship to the construction team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and resolving any challenges or bottlenecks
• Participate in the planning and implementation of site setups, material deliveries, and equipment utilisation
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the project, including daily cost reports, ITPs, timesheets, and Safety/QA documentation

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Foreman or Supervisor in the civil construction industry
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, with a strong focus on quality and safety
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing site conditions
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse workforce
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings
