Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory obligations.
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide security architecture and controls.
- Oversee IT risk management, including threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation planning.
- Manage the internal Cyber Operations Centre and lead incident response efforts.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, APRA CPS 234, and GDPR.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership and the board on security posture and risk exposure.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Expertise in crisis management and decision-making under pressure.
- Technical proficiency in security infrastructure and threat intelligence.
- Commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead high-performing teams.
Education & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in information security leadership, ideally within financial services or insurance.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks including Essential 8 and NIST.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
- Experience influencing executive leadership and leading cross-functional teams.
