At Fortescue, we're committed to building leadership capability through our world-class Leadership Academy- and we're looking for a skilled Leadership Development Specialist to help make it happen.

The Leadership Development Specialist will join our Organisational Development (OD team), within Fortescue's People function. This role plays a key role in designing, delivering, and evaluating leadership programs that build capability across all levels of the business, from emerging leaders to senior executives.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and business partners to create impactful learning experiences that align with Fortescue's values, culture, and strategic direction.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role that combines program facilitation, stakeholder collaboration, and logistical planning- ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of our organisation wide leadership development strategy and programs aligned with Fortescue's Values, goals and culture.
  • Facilitate high-impact leadership programs, including workshops, coaching engagements, and learning forums that drive measurable behavioural and performance outcomes.
  • Implement Organisational Development frameworks and interventions that strengthen leadership capability and build sustainable leadership benchstrength.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development initiatives through data-driven insights and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Leverage leadership capability and competency frameworks to identify development priorities, inform talent strategies, and shape succession planning.
  • Stay at the forefront of global leadership and organisational development trends, integrating innovative practices, technologies, and methodologies into Fortescue's leadership approach.
  • Champion a culture of learning and growth, ensuring leadership programs evolve to meet the organisation's strategic priorities and future capability needs.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive experience (5 years +) in leadership development and specifically the facilitation of impactful programs, workshops and coaching.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary OD principles, adult learning theory, and leadership capability frameworks.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in large, complex organisations, ideally within the resources, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Highly developed analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to measure program effectiveness and drive improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal capability, with a focus on credibility, clarity, and engagement at all organisational levels
