Casual Sales Assistant for Busy Virtual Costume Shop

Heaven Costumes is an online fancy dress retailer with a busy 'virtual' shop located in Salisbury Plain, South Australia.

We are looking for a bubbly, witty, super-fast learner,  with a love of everything 'costumes, Halloween and fancy dress' The successful applicant will need to work every Saturday from 10am to 3pm. There may be additional hours in the future.

Must be available for an immediate start.

We need a person who is able to work in our virtual store in a face to face setting but also able to answer emails, live chats and phones as needed. As we are also an online store, accuracy and attention to detail is important to us. To show us that you have these, please read this ad to the end, as you will be able to prove to us you have done this easily if you do.

Must have skills:

  • Minimum 3 years retail sales experience.
  • Previous POS experience.
  • Excellent typing, spelling and grammar skills.
  • Confident outgoing personality.

In addition to the above, we are always looking for talented people to move into other areas of the business, therefore additional skills and experience in any of the following will be regarded very highly:

  • Experience in online customer service, such as emails, live chat, phone calls and taking phone orders. Often suited to people who have worked in call centres.
  • Website admin particularly in Magento or Shopify.
  • Listing products on eBay or on a website.
  • Working with data via large spreadsheets.
  • Admin and general office work.
  • Social Media and / or work in marketing for eCommerce.

Your personality is what will catch our attention and your ability to sell with exemplary customer service mannerisms. But… you must also know how to be efficient, not waste time, be friendly but not pushy and build trust and confidence with the customers that shop with us.

Although this is a casual position initially, additional hours from Monday to Friday may also be offered on an adhoc basis or on short notice. If you prove we can't do without you and if your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, initiative, skills, dedication to your role and reliability exceeds our expectations, you may be able to work toward part-time or full-time hours.

However, this position would also suit a student, and hours offered will consider the needs of the successful applicant in this case.
