About the Team & the Position
The Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS) Department is responsible for implementing and supporting various business applications for internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager - Enterprise Systems, the Applications Developer will contribute to the design, development of, and support of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions that meet business needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
The Applications Developer plays a key role in delivering innovative business solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem, including Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. The position requires a strong focus on customizing and configuring solutions, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and alignment with cybersecurity requirements. The role collaborates with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to develop and maintain effective solutions that drive business efficiency and improve user experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform tools.
- Build custom Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards tailored to business needs.
- Customize Dynamics 365 to enhance functionality and integrate with other applications.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of deployed applications. Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary.
- Support and enforce Power Platform governance policies. Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements. Work closely with IT teams, third-party vendors, and end-users to deliver and optimize solutions.
- Develop user guides, technical documentation, and training materials.
- Stay updated on new features and developments within the Microsoft ecosystem. Explore opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies into solutions.
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in developing solutions with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
- Proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Understanding of integration methodologies and tools, including APIs.
- Strong knowledge of database design and management. Experience working within agile development environments.
Desirable Experience and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Azure API development and integration.
- Proficiency in C# for development within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Azure services and cloud platforms.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
- Previous exposure to SharePoint, HRIS, and financial systems.
Education/ professional Certifications:
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.
