The 2026 Musical Production is seeking to engage a Director to join our Artistic and Creative Team. This team consists of several professionals, including aProducer, Choreographer, Musical Director, Assistant Musical Director, Repetiteur and Music Instructors, Stage Manager and Logistics Coordinator and Support & Wellbeing Coordinator.

IGS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director for its 2026 musical production, with a strong background in large-stage musicals.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in directing musical theatre, with strong skills in staging, character development, and storytelling. They will be confident leading a creative team and collaborating with choreographers, a musical director, and production staff to deliver a cohesive and engaging performance.

This role requires a passionate and organised individual who enjoys working with children and teenagers of all ages. The Director will be a positive role model, capable of bringing out the best in students of all ability levels, while fostering an inclusive and supportive rehearsal environment.

The successful applicant will combine creativity with clear communication, and be committed to creating a memorable and enriching experience for the IGS community.

Remuneration

  • $10K honorarium
  • Rehearsal Time Frame | 6-month engagement (December - June)

Working Commitments

  • Tuesday 12.00pm - 2pm
  • Thursday 3.30pm - 6.30pm
  • Sundays 9am - 2pm

Schedule (Term-Time Only)

  • Term 4 | 1 Wk (Tue 9-Wed 8 Dec)
  • Term 1 | 10 Wks (Tues 27 Jan-Tues 31 Mar)
  • Term 2 | 7 Wks (Tues 21 Apr - Thu 4 Jun)

*Please note there are no scheduled rehearsals during school holidays
