Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and development of Class II/III medical devices
  • Lead mechanical design of precision titanium componentsfor next-generation artificial heart
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (biomedical, electrical, regulatory) from concept to commercialisation
  • Perform FEA, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability
  • Support regulatory submissions (ISO 13485, FDA 510(k)) through technical documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, preferably in medtech or high-precision industries
  • Class II/III medical device development experience required
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and rapid prototyping tools
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, biomechanics, and materials science
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Australian work rights required for this position
