Digital Platform Solution Architect
Location: Perth (Hybrid)
Sector: Aged Care | Disability | Mental Health
Employment Type: 6-month fixed term – project funded
Renumeration: $200, ,000 pro rata*
Help us build the digital backbone that connects communities.
At Chorus, we believe every person and community deserves the chance to thrive. We provide aged care, disability, and mental health services across Western Australia—and we do it differently. Our self-organising, local team model puts people and place at the heart of how we work — small, empowered teams delivering care, support, and connection where it matters most.
We're breaking down the barriers between service and community—and we're looking for someone who shares our values to help us evolve our enabling systems into a modern, cloud-based digital platform that supports scale, simplicity, and connection.
We're looking for a Digital Platform Solution Architect to design the technical architecture that will power this transformation — ensuring that our data, integration, application, and experience layers work seamlessly together to create great digital experiences and reliable operations.
About the role
You'll lead the design and stewardship of Chorus' digital platform architecture — shaping how our technology ecosystem connects people, processes, and possibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing a unified, future-ready digital platform solution architecture that meets Chorus' strategic objectives and facilitating the adoption of the architecture by the organisation by April 2026.
- Defining and documenting Chorus architectural standards and provide technical design assurance to digital projects.
- Mobilising the technical build of the digital platform and ensuring that core technical infrastructure is in place to support the delivery of Chorus' new Knowledge Management Solution by June 2026.
- Guide the transition from legacy systems to a cohesive, cloud-native platform including leading technical improvement projects and teams where appropriate.
- Modernising and securing Chorus' infrastructure and information architecture in alignment with cyber security recommendations by May 2026 (include IAM, RBAC and separation of duties).
- Co-development and costing of a multi-year roadmap linking digital investments to business capability growth.
- Co-ordinating external partners, supporting vendor relationships and overseeing procurement of new technical capabilities into Chorus' digital ecosystem where relevant.
- Participation and leadership in Chorus' Digital Leadership Group – a technical thought leadership and decision-making group that brings together internal technical leaders and external partners, to guide the design and implementation of Chorus' Digital Enabling Platform and govern Chorus digital ecosystem.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a systems thinker and architect who combines deep technical engineering expertise with curiosity, empathy, and a builder's mindset. You understand how to design secure, scalable, and human-centred systems that enable people and communities to thrive.
- Demonstrated expertise in solution and enterprise architecture, with hands-on experience designing, documenting, and implementing cloud-based environments—ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Azure AD/Entra ID, Logic Apps, Data Factory, Power Platform, API Management).
- Strong background in integration and modular architecture, applying API-first, event-driven and automation-oriented design to connect core systems and reduce manual work.
- Proven ability to design data and information architectures that ensure interoperability, security, and data integrity, including experience with data modernisation, master data management, and governance frameworks.
- Skilled in embedding security and compliance by design, implementing centralised identity and access management (IAM), permission structures, and audit controls that keep people safe without adding friction.
- Experience designing experience layers and self-service platforms that allow customers, employees, and volunteers to access the information and tools they need independently, supported by reliable automation and intuitive interfaces.
- Understanding of how to leverage AI-native capabilities—such as large language models, predictive analytics, and automation—to improve user experience, insight, and compliance while maintaining ethical oversight and human judgement.
- Proven track record modernising legacy environments into cloud-native, scalable platforms using configuration-first approaches and standard Azure services.
- Confident communicator who can translate complex technical architecture into clear, actionable strategies that influence decisions at both operational and executive levels.
- Collaborative and pragmatic engineer who values co-design, shared learning, and building sustainable internal capability over dependency on vendors.
- Able to balance engineering excellence with relational intent—designing systems that strengthen, not replace, human connection.
Who You'll Be Working With
You'll join a small, purpose-driven team leading Chorus' digital transformation — a group that blends strategy, design, data, and technology to create the digital backbone that connects our people and communities. You'll work closely with our Digital Enabling Platform Lead, who stewards the overall program and brings deep expertise in digital and data strategy, product management, and organisational design; our ICT Lead, who ensures technical rigour and alignment across systems and infrastructure; and our Data Scientist/Engineer, who is establishing our foundational data architecture and analytics capability.
You'll also collaborate with our Experience Design Lead, who ensures every digital interaction — for customers, employees, and volunteers — is cohesive, accessible, and human-centred. Beyond the internal team, you'll work in partnership with our trusted strategic partners in cyber security, IT service management, application development, and experience design, integrating their expertise into the design and delivery of a modern, cloud-based platform that helps Chorus scale with simplicity, connection, and care.
Why Chorus?
- We're values-led, not profit-driven. You'll work for an organisation that prioritises kindness, inclusion, and connection.
- Self-organising teams. You'll have autonomy and trust and be part of something that's reshaping how care is delivered, and community connection is catalysed.
- Make real impact. Your work will help improve lives—not just optimise systems.
- Flexible work environment. Hybrid/remote options available across WA.
Ready to Enable Communities to Thrive?
- To apply, send your resume and a brief cover letter telling us:
- Why Chorus' mission resonates with you;
- How you would approach to the Digital Enabling Platform program of work;
- How this work aligns to your personal mission.
*We welcome applications from individuals who are looking for a fixed term contract (on costs included in salary band above), sole traders working under their own ABN and from technical consultancies who can embed a dedicated Solution Architect within the Chorus project team for approximately six months.
We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis—apply early to be considered.
