When you join our Building Engineering Team at GHD, you are joining an integrated team encompassing Hydraulics, Fire, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural in one collaborative team. Through this approach, GHD has become a respected leader in the built environment, creating sustainable and inspiring places that everyone can enjoy for generations to come.

In this role you will work as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team across a variety of building projects, predominantly focused on the education, defence, health, and transport sectors.

As an experienced Fire Safety Engineer, this position will offer a variety of project experiences and will see you involved in, but not limited to:

• Developing and documenting Performance Solutions, in both the Performance Based Design Brief format and Fire Engineering Report, while working closely with Senior Fire Safety Engineers
• Undertaking analysis for smoke detection, sprinkler activation, time equivalence, evacuation times and other common forms of fire safety analysis
• Undertaking site inspections alongside Senior Fire Safety Engineers
• Developing Computational Fluid Dynamic models and undertaking Egress modelling for specific project needs
• Interfacing with clients through responses to RFIs, assisting with proposal queries, and delivery of reports
• Working on a variety of projects across Australia, and working with different GHD teams in different regions

What you will bring to the team?

• Experience (minimum 3 years+) within Fire Safety Engineering
• Hold a degree in an engineering field
• Progressing towards a master's degree, or have a desire to do so, for Fire Safety Engineering
• Ability to prioritise work to meet multiple deadlines
• A drive to try new and different things within the Fire Safety space
• Experience with special hazards, such as Battery Energy Storage, Data Centres, Electric Vehicles, and Process sites, seen as beneficial
• Experience with Fire Safety Studies, seen as beneficial
