Early Childhood Educator

Insight Early Learning Joondalup is looking to expand our pool of casual employees to support the service. **The ideal candidate must have full availability from Monday to Friday, between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm.

Located conveniently in the HomeCo Joondalup shopping centre, our centre is light-filled and wrapped around an incredible natural playscape. Our purpose-built facility features state-of-the-art resources and equipment designed to promote open-ended, play based interactions and learning opportunities by allowing children to move freely through the indoor and outdoor learning environments. Our specialist language, art and dance programs encourage children to become immersed and interact with the dynamic cultural and linguistic community. Our Bush Kinder program is another popular feature encouraging children to explore nature.

The Role

In this role, you must show a connection with and willingness to advocate for children and Insight Early Learning's philosophy WISDOM, INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY and EQUITY. You will be a great team player, show initiative and confidence, and be ready to PLAY as we operate on a play-based curriculum.

You will be responsible for implementing an approved learning framework and supporting the overall wellbeing, growth, and education of young children. This involves creating a safe, inclusive environment that supports diversity and encourages children to develop self-confidence and self-esteem.

A regular day in this role will involve:

• Actively supervising and interacting with children in your care
• Supporting children's learning through investigation and projects
• Monitor children's health, nutrition and hygiene while providing emotional support and guidance
• Closely working with the team to observe and document children's developmental progress against learning outcomes
• Ensuring a safe environment is maintained for staff and children
• Being open to working in any room where support is needed
• Cleaning duties as required
• Changing nappies
• Developing strong relationships with children, your team, families and/or care givers
• Working in line with Insight's philosophy, policies and procedures
• Working closely with the Room Leader and/or Educational Leader to critically reflect on all aspects of the educational program
• Any ad hoc duties as required

What you will bring:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (must have)
• Current and valid Working with Children Check
• Experience working in a similar role
• Warm, Empathetic and bubbly personality
• Willingness to work as a team
• Willingness to work with children of all age groups in the centre
• Previous experience using Xplor (or similar) would be advantageous but not essential.
