About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Bandsaw Operator & General Labourer to join our steel fabrication workshop. This role involves operating a bandsaw to cut steel grating and structural steel, as well as assisting with general labouring and workshop duties.

Ideal for someone with experience in a metal workshop or looking to get into the fabrication industry.

What You'll Be Doing - Bandsaw Operation

  • Operate horizontal bandsaws to cut steel grating and other steel components
  • Read cutting lists and basic fabrication drawings
  • Measure and mark materials accurately
  • Perform routine maintenance and blade changes
  • Check cut parts for quality and accuracy

General Labouring

  • Assembly of fabricated products
  • Assist with unloading, handling, and storing steel materials
  • Operate hand and power tools as required
  • Clean and maintain the workshop and equipment
  • Support tradespeople with basic tasks
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience operating a bandsaw (preferred but not essential)
  • Comfortable handling steel and working in a workshop environment
  • Good measuring skills and attention to detail
  • Forklift licence is a plus (but not essential)
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials
  • Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
  • Commitment to workplace safety and PPE compliance
