Ignite has partnered with an industrial leader in essential flow control technologies serving the energy and process industries. With operations in over 50 countries, this business works closely with clients to improve operational safety, reduce downtime, increase efficiency, and meet evolving environmental standards.

Due to growing project demands, they are seeking a Mechanical Technician to conduct detailed technical assessments of seal configurations on behalf of the company and its partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and test mechanical seals, couplings, and related equipment.
  • Accurately and promptly complete all service documentation.
  • Prepare inspection and test plans that align with corporate compliance standards.
  • Gather operational background information to assist engineers in specifying seal materials for unique or previously unquoted applications.
  • Contribute to root cause investigations and analysis.
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and reliability solutions in collaboration with technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Must be an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' post-apprenticeship experience working with rotating machinery, including machining (turning, drilling, milling) and reliability improvement.
  • Previous experience with mechanical seals, pumps, and sealing systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to apply continuous improvement (CI) techniques in workplace processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
