Our Queensland Government client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Cyber Security Specialist to provide support in operating the Information Technology Branch's Security Operations Centre (SOC).

This role involves working with TMR's Managed Service Provider for SOC to monitor, identify, investigate, and response to cyber security incidents.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and respond to cyber security threats, assess events to determine potential security incidents.

• Contain, mitigate, and resolve cyber security incidents, including implementing containment measures and executing playbooks.

• Perform threat hunting to respond to emerging threat landscape

• Collaborate with internal, customer teams and managed service provider to investigate and response to cyber security incidents.

• Recognise and enrich investigations with contextual data, indicators of compromises, and insights on attacker tools, tactics, and procedures.

• Conduct root cause analysis to identify vulnerabilities and prevent recurrence

• Prepare investigation findings, follow up actions and lessons learned.

• Participate in post incident reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of TMR's ICT environment.

• Assist in educating security events and implications, and refinement of SOC workflows, documentation and incident response process.

• Collaborate closely with QGCSU in incident resolution and reporting.
