About this Opportunity
We are looking for an energised, talented and passionate Teaching Assistant to join the Redlands team.
In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support students with learning and behavioural needs through in-class assistance, tailored interventions, and collaborative planning. You will monitor and document student progress, contribute to the implementation of accommodations, and support NCCD data collection. The position involves delivering targeted literacy and numeracy programs, providing administrative support, and supervising students during assessments. Participation in meetings, professional development, and school events-including duties outside standard hours-is also expected.

About you
The successful applicant will have the below knowledge, experience & qualifications requirements:
Essential Criteria:
- Completion of, or current enrolment in, a qualification in Education or a recognised Teacher's Assistant certification
- Demonstrated experience working with children from Kindergarten to Year 6
- Proven ability to support literacy and numeracy development within classroom environments
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, oppositional behaviours, and Specific Learning Disabilities
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or equivalent educational support role
- Familiarity with evidence-based literacy programs such as InitiaLit, MiniLit, and MacqLit
- Formal training or qualifications specific to Teaching Assistant roles
- Successful applicants will have a willingness and capacity to actively engage in the co-curricular and pastoral care programs at the School and will demonstrate the following competencies
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Demonstrates excellence in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey information clearly, confidently, and appropriately to diverse audiences
- Collaborative and Interpersonal Strengths: Builds and maintains positive working relationships, contributing effectively within team environments and fostering a culture of collaboration and respect
- Empathy, Discretion, and Reliability: Shows genuine care and professionalism when engaging with students and families, particularly those with complex or high-level needs, ensuring confidentiality and trust
- Behavioural Support Expertise: Proven ability to implement and support behavioural management strategies, assisting students in achieving their learning goals in a supportive and structured manner
- Digital Literacy in Education: Competent in supporting students' use of digital technologies for learning, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to integrating technology to enhance educational outcomes
