We're hiring an Firmware/AI Engineer to design, ship, and maintain the firmware, electronics, and cloud systems that power our devices. You'll work across embedded C/C++, hardware bring-up, and modern backend/cloud stacks to deliver reliable, compliant products.
Key duties & responsibilities
Firmware & electronics
- Turn user needs and constraints into design specifications.
- Design firmware architectures; implement features and maintain throughout the lifecycle.
- Contribute to hardware design (schematics, PCB) and produce manufacturing files (BOM, Gerbers/PCB outputs).
- Assemble, test, configure, and maintain electronic circuits; develop unit-test utilities.
- Integrate and test firmware with hardware; diagnose and resolve HW/SW/FW issues.
- Research and implement improvements to reliability, efficiency, and performance.
Backend & cloud
- Build and maintain backend services/APIs supporting apps and firmware.
- Set up and operate cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure services are secure, fast, and scalable; monitor systems and respond to incidents.
- Collaborate with firmware and frontend teams for end-to-end integration; document solutions.
AI features
- Build and connect AI features to apps and devices.
- Develop supporting backend/data pipelines and databases.
- Improve speed, accuracy, and usability; track performance and iterate.
- Document architecture and operations; align with product goals.
- Testing and Iteration of deployed AI features
Documentation
- Produce clear documentation for code, electronics, system design, and analysis.
- Provide QMS-relevant documentation as needed.
- Document testing (plans, results, analysis, decisions) and assist with manuals/guides.
General
- Work to company standards and adopt changes as they arise.
- Plan your work, provide realistic estimates, and meet quality/deadlines.
- Communicate progress, keep shared tools up to date, provide status reports, and perform related duties as required.
Skills & experience
- Embedded firmware (C/C++, RTOS), hardware bring-up and debugging (JTAG/logic analyzer/oscilloscope).
- Electronics design (schematics, PCB) and design-for-manufacture; production files (BOM, PCB outputs).
- Backend development (e.g., ) with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Cloud fundamentals (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong debugging, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Production ML/LLM: build data pipelines, train models, deploy/monitor services, and iterate from telemetry.
- LLM integration: implement prompting, tool/function calling, and basic retrieval to power device- and app-facing features.
- Nice to have: compliance/QMS exposure; BLE/USB/TCP/IP; ML/NLP; IoT at scale.
