About the role

Are you an empathetic and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting the elderly and those with disabilities? If so, we have an exciting casual opportunity for a Community Mentor to join the team at Linkage SA in Southern Suburbs of Adelaide.

What you'll be doing?

  • Providing personalised support and mentorship to elderly and disabled clients in the local community
  • Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
  • Engaging clients in recreational and social activities to promote their wellbeing and independence
  • Advocating for clients and liaising with their families, healthcare providers, and other support services
  • Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records in line with organisational policies
  • Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and quality standards

What we're looking for

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others, particularly with young people.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as well as communicate with other members who also support your clients.
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
