Downer Maintenance and ITS is our dedicated On-Road Electrical business unit, delivering innovative construction and maintenance solutions for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), traffic signals, and road lighting. We proudly support Southeast Queensland's road network, contributing to some of the region's most critical infrastructure projects.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Traffic Signals Electrician to join our Construction and Maintenance Team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in traffic signal systems, including installation, fault finding, maintenance and commissioning. You'll work across a variety of projects involving traffic signals, ITS devices, and road lighting, ensuring safe and efficient operation of key transport infrastructure.

What you'll bring:

  • Current Queensland Electrical License
  • Extensive experience in traffic signal construction and maintenance (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of traffic signal controllers and electrical switchboards
  • Familiarity with ITS end devices such as CCTV cameras and communications equipment
  • Ability to mentor apprentices and support team development
  • High-level fault-finding and testing skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
  • Reliable, organised, and skilled in accurate documentation
