Exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Victorian public sector The Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional for the role of Senior Adviser, First Peoples Workforce and Cultural Capability. You will play a key role in delivering Barring Djinang - the Victorian public sector's First Peoples Workforce Development Strategy. You'll help drive initiatives that improve First Nations employment outcomes, promote culturally informed workplaces, and contribute to broader strategic government priorities such as self-determination, Treaty, and truth-telling.
Working in a small and dynamic team, you will collaborate across government and community to provide expert advice, lead strategic projects, and foster culturally safe and inclusive workplaces. If you bring deep knowledge of issues impacting First Nations communities, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to shaping systemic change, this role offers a unique platform to make a lasting impact. We're seeking a motivated and experienced individual with deep knowledge of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities - particularly in relation to employment, workforce development, and cultural capability. You'll have a strong track record in delivering impactful projects, building stakeholder relationships, and communicating complex ideas clearly and persuasively. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and confident working across government and community sectors. Experience working with First Nations organisations or communities is highly regarded, as is a relevant qualification in a related field. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to public sector values are essential.
