Autocare Services also operates as an International Freight Forwarder and Customs Brokerage under Smith Channon & Co brand based in the heart of Port Adelaide. Smith Channon is one of the longest established International Freight Forwarder and Customs Brokerage firms in Australia with a strong and reliable network partners.

About the role

We are seeking a Licensed Customs Broker, based in Laverton, to work within our Customs team, providing guidance and support to team members and clients. This role reports directly to the General Manager and includes preparation of barrier clearance formalities, managing complex import matters, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and government regulatory bodies.

  • Liaise and advise clients regarding customs related matters
  • Prepare import and export documentation, including N10/20/30 declarations
  • Manage import permit applications with various government agencies
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Acts, FTAs and all current affairs within industry
  • Provide guidance and support to the team
  • Collaborate with government agencies and build rapport
  • Manage all tariff related matters, including rulings, concessions and duty advice
  • Build and maintain working relationships

About your experience

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate must hold a Customs brokers License and Class 19 accreditation Agreement with the Department of Agriculture.

Preferred skills and requirements include:

  • CBC (19.1 & 19.2) accreditation
  • Meet CPD requirements
  • Currently licensed Customs Broker under the Act
  • In depth knowledge of Incoterms, Customs Regulations and Act, Tariff understanding, Duty Drawback, AusIndustry advices, TCOs, Rulings and landed costings
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Expedient experience will be looked upon favourably
