Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to spearhead the expansion of our corporate event space business. This individual will play a key role in driving revenue, building relationships, and managing the sales lifecycle for corporate clients across Australia. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring an exceptional client experience across all stages of their event planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy for the corporate event space division, with a focus on increasing venue bookings for corporate functions, conferences, seminars, product launches, and executive events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, event planners, and agencies to drive sales and ensure a seamless experience from initial inquiry to event execution.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, lead generation, follow-up, proposal creation, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and events teams to tailor offerings, promotions, and packages that resonate with corporate clients and align with their business needs.
  • Identify and target high-value clients and markets to maximize venue bookings and revenue across all locations in Australia.
  • Provide detailed reporting on sales activities, market trends, and event performance to senior management.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market competition, industry trends, and customer needs to position our venues as the go-to destination for corporate events.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and create new business opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the hospitality, events, or venue management sector.
  • Strong understanding of the corporate event market and the needs of businesses when selecting venues for events.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A results-driven approach with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to venues across Australia as required.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
