About the Role
This is a true HR Business Partner role where no two days look the same. Reporting to our Head of People & Culture, you'll work closely with managers across our national branch network to support every stage of the employee journey. From hiring and onboarding, through to performance, development and engagement – you'll be their go-to support. Every now and then you will also be required to jump in to support our Branch Support office team too – keeping things fresh and interesting. This role will have one direct report and will be based at our modern Mount Waverley office, with hybrid WFH and flexible start and finish times options to suit your lifestyle.
Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Partner with managers to provide practical, people-focused advice and help bring our People & Culture strategy to life.
- Get involved in projects that improve how we do things – we're always looking to do better
- Keep our people data sharp: from workforce planning insights to updating org charts, HR records, reports, and compliance.
- Make sure contracts, letters, induction packs and all the important docs are accurate and ready to go.
- Support with everything from onboarding through to employee changes and day-to-day HR operations.
Employee Relations
- Be a trusted advisor on everything from policies to tricky conversations – helping managers and employees navigate issues with confidence.
- Investigate and resolve grievances and conflicts fairly, confidentially, and quickly.
- Keep a pulse on workplace culture and help shape initiatives that boost engagement.
- Guide leaders through sensitive matters (discipline, exits, changes) while balancing employment law and company values.
- Support training initiatives around communication, conflict resolution and respectful workplaces.
- Spot trends in employee relations and share insights to help us stay proactive.

Experience & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources (or working towards one).
- 4+ years' experience in a Business Partner or Generalist role.
- Solid knowledge of employment law, HR policies and award interpretation.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel is a big plus).
- Experience with Connx HRIS (highly desirable).
