About the Role:

We're seeking a motivated Legal Officer with a focus on employment law and administrative matters to support the IDN National Manager, Professional Integrity. This role suits someone with advocacy experience who is eager to grow their legal career—whether from private practice or government sectors.

In this role, you will handle employment-related legal issues, support compliance and governance, and provide practical legal advice and advocacy. You must be ready to travel interstate as needed; travel days will count as in-office time.

The position can be based anywhere on the East Coast of Australia. If you're located near a major city, in-office attendance is expected two days per week, with the remainder of your time worked remotely.

In your new role, you will:

  • Provide legal advice and support on employment law and administrative matters

  • Advocate effectively on behalf of the organisation in relevant forums

  • Support investigations, compliance, and governance processes

  • Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports

  • Manage case files and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful, you will have:

  • Legal qualifications with a focus or interest in employment law

  • Advocacy experience (private or government sector)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex employment issues with discretion

  • Willingness to travel interstate as part of your role

  • Open to candidates newer to the industry with relevant experience
