About the role
Represent the unit, in its role as a technical stakeholder, on a range of security projects and provide subject matter expertise to facilitate the inclusion of effective and efficient security strategies.
The Projects Officer plays a key role in ensuring that safety and security considerations are embedded into every stage of, asset, minor and major capital works projects. Working closely with internal teams and project managers, the role provides clear, practical advice through all stages of the project from initial design to completion. The officer must have strong communication skills to coordinate technical input from multiple stakeholders and ensure compliance with organisational standards to deliver secure fit for purpose security systems in and on school sites.

About you –
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination within a large or complex organisation specifically with security systems and/or infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislative standards, understanding the importance of security standards, guidelines, and departmental policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- High level of attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to delivering work that meets compliance and operational requirements.
- Proactive work ethic with the ability to manage competing priorities, anticipate risks, and provide timely, practical advice to project teams.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Driver's Licence – Class C.
- Willingness to travel to schools throughout the state when required.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
