Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Southern Dental Specialists and Implant Centre Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year
Practice Manager / Senior Receptionist

Southern Dental Specialists & Implant Centre - Wollongong, NSW

About Us

Southern Dental Specialists & Implant Centre (SDSIC) is a leading specialist prosthodontic and implant practice in the Illawarra region, known for its excellence in aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry.

We deliver complex, multidisciplinary dental care supported by our growing in-house digital laboratory, South Coast Dental Ceramics, which enables seamless collaboration between clinicians and technicians. In addition to clinical excellence, SDSIC hosts regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for referring dentists, reflecting our strong focus on education and innovation.

Our vision is to build a centre of excellence that integrates clinical precision, advanced technology, and professional education-and we are seeking a Practice Manager who will grow with us on that journey.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Practice Manager who will also provide front-of-house support when needed. This hybrid position suits a capable and confident individual who enjoys both the strategic and people-facing aspects of managing a high-performing specialist practice.

You will oversee daily operations, drive performance through data-based decision-making, and ensure that every aspect of the patient and stakeholder experience reflects SDSIC's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice, including scheduling, billing, compliance, and reporting.

·       Deliver a premium patient experience at reception and throughout the treatment journey.

·       Lead, train, and support the reception and clinical administration teams.

·       Liaise effectively between specialists, the in-house lab, referring dentists, and suppliers.

·       Coordinate logistics for CPD and educational events.

·       Implement and uphold SDSIC's policies, systems, and brand standards.

·       Run regular financial and operational metrics to assess the health of the practice - tracking performance, identifying trends, and supporting data-driven improvement.

·       Provide monthly or quarterly summaries of practice performance to the directors.

·       Support business development, marketing, and communications aligned with SDSIC's growth strategy.

·       Understand and communicate effectively with all layers of stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

Success in this role requires a clear understanding of SDSIC's diverse stakeholders and their unique drivers:

·       Patients: Delivering compassionate, high-quality, and reassuring service.

·       Clinical & administrative staff: Fostering teamwork, accountability, and alignment with practice goals.

·       Referring dentists: Maintaining professional, responsive relationships that strengthen referral partnerships.

·       Laboratory technicians & suppliers: Coordinating efficiently to support excellent clinical outcomes.

·       Education attendees & CPD partners: Representing SDSIC with professionalism and organisation during all events.

Your ability to adapt your communication style to suit each audience will be key to maintaining SDSIC's premium reputation.

About You

You are a career-focused professional with management and/or reception experience in a dental environment. You take pride in precision, reliability, and results, and you are looking for a role that combines operational leadership with personal growth opportunities.

·       Experience in dental practice management or senior dental reception.

·       Strong grasp of both clinical and administrative workflows.

·       Excellent communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.

·       Confidence in interpreting and presenting financial or operational metrics.

·       A professional, polished manner and strong attention to detail.

·       Reliability, discretion, and long-term commitment to your role and team.

This position is ideal for someone whose career and personal life are well-established, now ready to invest long-term in a sophisticated, expanding specialist practice.

Why Join Us

·       Be part of a specialist, technology-driven practice with an in-house digital lab.

·       Work alongside leading prosthodontists and a multidisciplinary team.

·       Engage in education, CPD events, and business growth initiatives.

·       Help shape the future of a premium dental brand in the Illawarra.

·       Supportive leadership, collaborative culture, and a beautiful new facility.

·       Competitive salary with long-term stability and genuine career development.
