About the role

We are seeking a motivated, talented, vibrant and dynamic CDP's and Demi Chefs with sushi training and/or Japanese kitchen experience to join our high-energy, fast-paced & award-winning restaurant Yamagen. The new restaurant will be opening soon and we are looking for the final casual ad full-time chefs to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a "team-first" attitude, a passion for culinary excellence, and the drive to succeed in this dynamic industry. They will bring expertise, attention to detail and creativity to the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Previous experience as a CDP or Demi chef in a high end restaurant and ideally with experience in Japanese cuisine including sushi, sashimi tempura.
• Confident in working across different sections of the kitchen including the grill.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen, keeping cool under pressure while delivering excellence.
• Obsessed with detail—from the perfect cut to flawless plating.
• Committed to top-tier hygiene and food safety, because quality starts behind the scenes.
• A natural team player, communicating clearly to keep the kitchen running like clockwork.
• Ready to anticipate guest needs and deliver an unforgettable experience every time.
• Knowledgeable about traditional Japanese techniques, with bonus points for tempura and robata grilling skills.
• Skilled at managing stock and ordering smart, so the kitchen is always prepped and ready.
• Passionate about Japanese cuisines and presentation, bringing the menu to life with every dish.
