Skills NT is a key Northern Territory Government initiative managed by the Department of Education and Training (DET) which is focused on developing a skilled, job-ready workforce that meets the needs of local industry and the community. Through partnerships with registered training organisations (RTOs), schools, and employers, Skills NT supports the delivery of high-quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) that opens doors to meaningful career pathways and helps create opportunities for individuals while strengthening the Territory's future workforce.

The Role

As an Industry Engagement Coordinator, you will liaise with schools, RTOs, and industry to engage students and enable them to access work placements in line with their chosen vocation.

You'll proactively support students by facilitating structured engagement with local businesses, promoting employment and training opportunities to schools and assist with the set up and coordination of industry lead VET and career activities.

About You

You're a confident communicator and connector who thrives on building relationships and creating opportunities for students across the Territory. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a broad network of stakeholders

  • Sound understanding of VET including, traineeship and apprenticeship pathways.

  • Strong work ethic, and ability to use initiative, sound judgement, problem solving skills and with an understanding of confidentiality

  • High-level organisational skills and ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail, responsiveness to shifting priorities with minimal supervision.

  • Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to communicate and work in a diverse environment.

  • A current NT Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre Card) and driver's licence or ability to obtain
