About the Role

As a Gardener at one of our care homes, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

This is a Part Time role 3 days a week

Duties

  • Mowing of lawns, maintenance of garden beds, trimming of hedges and foliage
  • Planting out and replacing as needed
  • Weeding, mulching and pruning
  • Fertilising, controlling pests and diseases
  • Compliance with all relevant WHS procedures

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate II or III in Horticulture highly regarded but not essential

  • At least 2 – 3 years previous experience

  • Understanding of plants, pest management and chemical handling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience gained in a similar role
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
