The Opportunity
We are seeking a Graduate Analyst to join at Federal Government Department focused on Diplomatic. In this role, you will work with open-source and sensitive data to identify patterns, trends, and potential threats, delivering insights that enhance Australia's security posture.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and government security operations while contributing to important national interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse open-source and sensitive data to identify patterns, trends, and emerging threats
- Support the development and management of accurate and timely reporting processes
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to improve analytic procedures
- Prepare, enhance, and visualise data for presentation to senior decision-makers
- Participate in change initiatives for data governance and process improvement
- Draft and present material to enable improved analytic capabilities
Essential Criteria
- Recent graduate in Information Technology, Security Studies, Business, Commerce, or related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Australian citizen with NV2 required
Desirable Criteria
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Python, or other analytical tools
- Experience in Federal Government or security-related environments
- Knowledge of MS Visio, HyperTerminal, and IP networks
- Exposure to analytical or programming software packages
Security Clearance
You must be an Australian Citizen and hold, or be able to obtain, a Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) security clearance.
