The Role

The Management Accountant plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to support management and the Board. Reporting to the Planning & Analysis Manager, this role provides valuable insights that drive strategic decision-making while ensuring full compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and Board reports, compile accurate, insightful financial statements and performance reports, highlighting key variances, trends and risks to inform strategic decision-making at both operational and Board level
  • Assist in developing and maintaining annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Maintain and update internal management tools to ensure data accuracy, supporting reliable reporting and informed operational planning
  • Support corporate governance and compliance requirements
  • Deliver detailed analysis on cost drivers, profitability, investment opportunities and operational performance, enabling management to make evidence-based strategic and tactical decisions
  • Partner with operational, commercial and corporate teams to streamline financial workflows, improve reporting accuracy and reduce turnaround times for key deliverables

The Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management accountant role
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong IT proficiency, including advanced Excel skills and complex spreadsheet management
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Degree qualification in accounting
  • Previous exposure to mining operations and maintenance activities desirable
