About the role

An exciting 12-month maximum-term parental leave cover opportunity is available for a Senior Business Analyst to join the BGL Corporate Solutions' Data & AI team. We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating effective and efficient software solutions.

The successful candidate will monitor a range of projects including requirement gathering and documentation, data evaluation and recommendation, process automation, testing, and validation. They will also help incorporate Machine Learning processes into BGL's cloud products and help interpret the data.

What you'll be doing

• Communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and teams to analyse BGL client needs and functional requirements.
• Requirement gathering and documentation using a range of methods and sources. Critically evaluating the information to determine application and implementation of operational requirements to address client and business needs.
• Develop and implement accounting automation processes in BGL cloud-based products, including testing (UAT), validation and process improvement.
• Gather, interpret and analyse Machine Learning (ML) Model data to define functional requirements, increase efficiency and determine actionable results within new and existing BGL applications.
• Resolving problems, monitoring project progress, publishing reports and recommending actions.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst, with expertise in gathering and documenting software requirements.
• Proficient in agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Extensive knowledge of software development processes and business analysis techniques (e.g. process modelling, prototyping, user stories).
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. SQL).
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice-versa.
• Knowledge in Accounting/Tax (desirable).
• Experience with AI/ML (desirable).
