The key accountabilities of the role:

  • Develop working software across the full stack (end to end) according to requirements and development standards
  • Contribute to the team with feature and solution design that includes technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assist the support and customer success team with diagnosing issues with the software and providing guidance or helping with appropriate fixes
  • Continually improve domain and technical knowledge through professional development

The key responsibilities of the role:

  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies
  • Complete assigned development tasks
  • Raise blockers and issues associated with assigned tasks
  • Review and provide constructive feedback of code from other developers
  • Receive constructive feedback from your team lead
  • Deliver code with supporting technical documentation where required

The key requirements for the role:

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills
  • Ability to work completely autonomously (if required) on a wide range of development tasks
  • A willingness to collaborate and pair program on harder development tasks
  • A desire to learn
  • Understanding of MVC development frameworks, such as Rails or ASP.NET
  • A working understanding of CSS, HTML and JavaScript
  • An understanding of software version control, specifically with git
  • Knowledge of programming principles such as OOP and unit testing
  • Understanding of database queries
  • Ruby on Rails experience is desirable
  • Experience in other languages and architectures is a bonus
