Food Services Assistant

Permanent Part Time, up to 32 hours per fortnight

Food & Domestic Assistant- $25.74-$27.07 per hour base salary (excluding allowances)

Junior rates apply to employees aged under 19 years

We are currently seeking a versatile candidate as a Food Services Assistant at Andrews House, Public Residential Aged Care Facility in Trafalgar.

The Food Services Assistant ensures the safe preparation, delivery, and cleanliness of food service operations. Responsibilities include food ordering, meal preparation, re-thermalization, and serving, while maintaining hygiene standards by cleaning equipment, appliances, and work areas. Compliance with food safety regulations, including proper handling, documentation, and reporting of any safety concerns, is essential. The role also requires adherence to infection control and OHS guidelines, proper waste disposal, and the use of personal protective equipment. Confidentiality must be maintained regarding any personal, private, or sensitive information related to staff or clients.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Current Certificate – Safe Food Handlers Certificate – HLTTFS7A or equivalent and previous food services experience (Food Service Assistants only)
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to use initiative.

• Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

There are up to 32 hours (4 days) per fortnight available, work a rotating and flexible roster with shift times from and , both 8 hours in duration.

IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
