The Dirt Off Road Campers, a multi award-winning RV dealership in the Adelaide Hills, is seeking a hands-on Senior Workshop Technician/Mechanic to guide our busy service team. About the Role

This is more than a service role — you'll be the point person keeping our workshop humming and working on the latest technology in modern off-road campers and caravans. Reporting to the Director, you'll:

  • Carry out hands-on servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting on campers and caravans.
  • Supervise and support two part time workshop staff, providing guidance where needed.
  • Coordinate service schedules, allocate jobs, and arrange parts.
  • Work closely with the Director, Accounts, and our manufacturers to keep operations smooth.
  • Ensure records are accurate and jobs run on time.
  • Deliver a rewarding customer experience — our customers are adventurous, passionate, and genuinely appreciative of quality service.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and customer-focused workshop.
  • Step into the role with the benefit of training and handover from our outgoing workshop lead.

About You

We're looking for a grounded, even-tempered leader who brings stability to a busy environment. You'll bring:

  • Mechanical Expertise – Significant experience with trailer braking systems, bearings, suspension, diesel heaters, and plumbing. Other complementary skills highly regarded.
  • 12V Electrical Knowledge – Strong understanding and practical experience with charging systems, solar, lithium batteries, and DC electrical.
  • Leadership Ability – Comfortable coordinating staff and multiple jobs at once.
  • Problem-Solving Skills – Logical, efficient, and level-headed under pressure.
  • Customer Communication – Well presented, clear, approachable, and service-minded.
  • Licences & Practical Experience – Valid driver's licence and confidence towing trailers or caravans.
  • Invoicing – experience invoicing with Xero or ServiceMate highly regarded.
  • Off Grid expert – experience, living and breathing the off grid lifestyle from your own caravan/camper/4WD touring adventures.
