Job Description
We're looking for a skilled Technical Business Analyst to support data and analytics initiatives within a government environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently and has a strong focus on documentation and technical clarity.
You'll be responsible for producing high-quality documentation that supports project planning, procurement, and implementation. You will also be responsible for data analytics and visulation, working closely with stakeholders, and translating discussions and high-level concepts into structured, actionable artefacts.
Your work will include data analysis, vendor evaluation using business analysis techniques, preparing documentation for Proof of Concept (POC), Pilot, and RFQ phases, including scope, objectives, success criteria, and technical specifications.
A key part of the role involves conducting gap analyses and documenting current and future state processes, systems, data flows, and integration points. You'll support rollout readiness through data migration documentation, transition planning, and handover artefacts.
This is a hands-on role that requires proficiency in visual documentation tools and a solid understanding of data and analytics concepts.
Qualifications
- Strong business analysis experience with a focus on technical documentation and visualisation tools (e.g., Visio, Confluence)
- Familiarity with data and analytics concepts including Data Lakes, Reporting Tools, ETL, APIs, metadata, and cloud platforms
- Ability to produce clear and structured artefacts from stakeholder input
- Experience preparing documentation for POC, Pilot, RFQ, and tender processes
- Skilled in creating process maps, swim-lane diagrams, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications
- Detail-oriented, structured, and comfortable working independently
- Strong written communication skills and ability to simplify complex technical concepts
