ABL's Property & Development practice
ABL's Property & Development team works with clients to develop and implement strategies for buying, selling, financing, developing and re-packaging property in a manner that minimises exposure and maximises returns. The firm's property & development practice has become recognised for its ability to integrate complex project and construction arrangements, and financing and planning requirements, with clients' commercial objectives.
The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced secretary with at least five years ideally in private practice or professional services. The role will support one Partner and number of lawyers. The property secretary provides secretarial and administrative support to these fee earners and also works as part of the broader secretarial pool as a team to support the practice and firm.
Overview Of Key Responsibilities
The range of duties the position is responsible for include:
- assisting with property transactions, including:
- managing the trust account receipting process;
- working with the accounts team to invest and release payments;
- conducting company and property searches;
- liaising with clients in relation to queries and requests;
- typing, drafting, proof reading and collation of various legal documents;
- typing of various commercial contracts/deeds/agreements;
- typing of correspondence, memos, and email communications;
- conducting property and company searches on SAI Global;
- entry of timesheet data and preparation of client accounts (billing);
- other administrative tasks as required.
About You
You are an experienced secretary with at least five years' experience, ideally in private practice or professional services supporting Partners. You will bring a committed, proactive, and service-oriented approach to your work. You have exceptional organisational and communication skills, ensuring that you can prioritize tasks efficiently and manage competing deadlines with ease. You have strong technical skills along with a high level of attention to detail.
You bring intellectual curiosity, a strong aptitude for working with technology, and the ability to adapt in a changing environment. You proactively embrace emerging legal and technological developments and apply them to your role.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, and dedicated to providing the best possible support, always aiming to exceed expectations.
