The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

About the roles:

As NAC continues to grow, we are now seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters (Diesel Fitting Trade) to join the Mobile Maintenance Team on a permanent, full-time basis. Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Diesel Fitter plays a pivotal role in performing safe & effective mobile machinery maintenance and delivering machine availability targets.

What you will do:

  • Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance activities on a wide range of Caterpillar, Hitachi & LeTourneau heavy earthmoving machinery
  • Conduct machine rebuilds across the mining fleet
  • Diagnostics and fault finding to determine developing issues & existing problems
  • Ensure the workplace cleanliness is always kept to a high standard
  • Comply with New Hope Group's Health, Safety and Environmental procedures at all times

To be considered for these opportunities you will bring:

  • Diesel Fitting Trade Qualifications
  • Current coal board medical and Standard 11 Induction (Or willing to obtain)
  • Experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi and Letourneau machines preferable
  • Queensland driver's licence (manual)
  • Experience with computer-based maintenance systems (desirable)

  • Ability to undergo and pass a coal board medical
  • Ability to work a rotating 7/7 day / night roster including weekends and night shift
  • The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
