A State Government department is seeking a highly capable AO3 Communication Officer to provide critical support to the CSM team. This full-time temporary contractor position plays a key role in delivering high-quality communications and stakeholder engagement across planning, pre-construction, and construction projects.

The AO3 Communication Officer is responsible for producing clear and engaging communications materials, including correspondence, flyers, social media posts, and web page updates. This role also supports low-risk stakeholder engagement and responds to inquiries via the 1800 phone line, helping to free up more senior team members to focus on complex and urgent matters.

AO3 Communication Officer - Contractor (Full-Time, Temporary)

Location: Townsville

Contract Term: ASAP - 18 August 2026 with possible extension

Pay: $58.02 p/h

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide stakeholder engagement support for low-risk QTRIP projects.
  • Develop and maintain project webpages, analytic reports, and updates.
  • Manage The Hive webpages.
  • Produce and distribute project flyers.
  • Respond to low-level stakeholder communication inquiries.
  • Manage and maintain the correspondence tracker.
  • Source stakeholder contact details, lot number information, and enter data into spreadsheets and Consultation Manager.
  • Assist with or attend stakeholder meetings alongside Program Engagement Officers.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in producing professional communications materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to manage low-risk matters independently.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media management, and web content management systems.
  • A team player, capable of supporting a high-performing team while contributing to process improvements.
