Our client is a well-respected government agency throughout QLD. They are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Communications Officer to join their business unit. This organisation plays an integral part in helping members within our society.

The ideal candidate will have experience in project communications within the public sector. This contract is based in Townsville and will commence as soon as possible, running through to August

The Job…..

Reporting into the Communications Manager, in this exciting Communications contract, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support stakeholder engagement for low-risk projects, including responding to front-line enquiries.
  • Develop and update project and webpages, reports and content.
  • Prepare communication materials such as correspondence, flyers, social media posts and web updates.
  • Draft responses for low-level stakeholder issues.
  • Manage the correspondence tracker and maintain accurate records.
  • Source stakeholder contacts and lot information, and enter data into spreadsheets and Consultation Manager.
  • Assist with or attend stakeholder meetings.

You……

To be successful for this Communications Officer contract, you must have experience with the following:

  • 2-4 years in a similar Communications focused role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or journalism or relevant/demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing communications strategies across a range of channels including web, digital and social.
  • Government experience highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability work independently and meet strict deadlines.
