About the Role
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Project Engineer to join us on a 6-month contract within our Perth CBD office. We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves delivering telecommunication projects using both internal and external engineering and design resources. The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing project proposals and bids, interfacing with client Design Managers, Project Managers, and other Project Engineers, and fostering positive, value-add client relationships. Additionally, the role includes contributing to the development of Design Management methodology, tools, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, execution, and monitoring of radio site installations along rail tracks and tunnels.
- Review and interpret design drawings, installation documentation, and Method of Procedures (MOPs).
- Coordinate with subcontractors, construction crews, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Conduct site surveys, readiness checks, and installation verification.
- Manage project trackers, documentation, and reporting requirements (PTA/Telstra/Nokia standards).
- Assist with testing, integration, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a rail environment.
- Identify risks and escalate issues impacting project timelines or deliverables.
- Provide technical input during project reviews and client meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years' experience in telecoms project delivery, preferably in rail or mission-critical environments.
- Understanding of RAN equipment, transmission, and IP networking.
- Experience working with Nokia RAN or similar OEM equipment highly regarded.
- Familiarity with PTA / rail safety standards and working in rail corridors (RIW card desirable).
- Strong skills in project coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
Location
This role is based in Perth, Western Australia, with opportunities to work from APD's Osborne Park and St Georges Terrace offices, including access to state-of-the-art lab environments in the CBD. Occasional site visits to the Pilbara may be required.
