About the business and the role

Location: Goonellabah 2480.

Our practice has been delivering a friendly dental service for the past 11 years. As the practice is growing, we seek a quick thinking, team player who we can rely upon. Initially casual 2-3 days per week and becoming permanent for the right fit.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will primarily be assisting the dentist in procedures like dental hygiene appointments, fillings, X-rays, and minor oral surgery. Some sterilisation duties and light reception duties (making appointments) also required. The job may include some Saturdays, negotiable.

You will need to be fast and efficient with preparing instruments for the dentist. You will need to maintain infection control standards in the sterilisation of equipment. Dental patients are usually anxious so having a caring and friendly nature is a definite advantage.

Skills and experience

Experience preferred. On the job training provided for an exceptional candidate. Fast thinking, efficiency and organisational skills are required to work under the time pressures in a dental practice. During probation you will familiarise yourself with sterilisation duties. Over time, training can be provided to work with the dentist. By the end of 2 years you will be encouraged to have completed a certificate 3 in dental assisting via TAFE.

Experienced applicants can negotiate pay based upon skill level.
