About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within Bundaberg Regional Council's Water Services Branch for a Senior Planning Engineer.

The focus of this position is to lead the delivery of the strategic infrastructure planning and programs for water and sewerage infrastructure. Key responsibilities include managing the development and implementation of infrastructure strategies, including Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), master and detailed infrastructure planning, development of 10 year capital program, engineering scoping of 1-3 year growth projects, and engineering advice on water and sewerage aspects of developments. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

Tertiary qualification in Engineering.Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of infrastructure strategies, planning, and design.Experience in the preparation of engineering scopes and detailed project proposals for the 1-3 year growth infrastructure programs.Proven ability in hydraulic modelling and managing water and wastewater network models.Experience in developing and maintaining long-term capital investment programs and project scoping for growth infrastructure.Sound knowledge of land use and infrastructure planning, development servicing strategies, and relevant design standards.Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading or mentoring technical staff.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.Current Class 'C' Driver's Licence.

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering.A working knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008, WSAA  (Water and Sewer Codes), and other relevant regulations, standards and codes relating to the water supply and sewage, including Local Government.
