Make a real impact on the environment with this hands-on role in a team that keeps it fun
About the role:
We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator to join our growing engineering team in a full-time capacity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors, takes a practical approach to work, and can think on their feet to solve problems.
You'll be involved in the operation and maintenance of mobile water treatment systems, support a variety of environmental remediation tasks, and play a key role in delivering meaningful outcomes on project sites across NSW and SEQ. While the role is primarily site-based, your designated office will be in Coffs Harbour.
It's a hands-on position suited to someone who's eager to learn, enjoys working with their hands, and values being part of a supportive, collaborative team.
What you'll be doing:
-
Operating and monitoring mobile water treatment systems
-
Collecting water and soil samples for laboratory analysis
-
Performing routine maintenance and equipment checks on treatment systems
-
Recording and reporting environmental field data
-
Contributing to system improvements with support from the technical team
-
Assisting site teams with tasks such as dewatering, soil remediation, and water treatment
-
Engaging with clients and representing ENV in a professional manner
-
Following all safety protocols, participating in inductions, leading toolbox talks, and maintaining safe work practices on site
What we're looking for:
You don't need extensive experience, but we're looking for someone with a solid base of practical skills and a genuine willingness to learn. Full training will be provided - we're more interested in the right attitude and potential. Ideally, you'll bring:
-
Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
-
The ability to work independently across varied tasks
-
Comfort working outdoors in changing site conditions
-
Good communication skills to work well with both clients and teammates
-
A mechanical mindset – you're curious about how things work and enjoy hands-on problem solving
-
Physical fitness and a readiness to take on manual, on-site work
-
A proactive, solution-focused approach to challenges
-
Willingness to travel – most projects involve days away
-
A full, unrestricted Australian driver's licence
-
A current White Card (General Construction Induction)
Nice to have (but not essential):
While not required, any of the following would be an advantage:
-
Experience in construction, mining, water treatment, dewatering, or environmental fieldwork
-
Background in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or similar trades
-
Additional industry training or certifications (e.g. Confined Space, Working at Heights, etc.)
What we offer:
At ENV Solutions, we're proud of our supportive, down-to-earth team culture that empowers individuals to grow and succeed. You'll enjoy:
-
Employment security in a full time role
-
Friendly and skilled team who value your contribution and support your growth
-
Access to ENV's wellbeing program to support your health
-
Flexible working arrangements with RDO incentive
-
The chance to work on innovative and meaningful environmental projects
-
Phone, laptop and work gear/tools provided
-
Travel allowance provided when working away/remote
