Water Operations Trainee Position

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Water Operations Trainee. This two-year traineeship offers hands-on experience working on critical water and wastewater infrastructure, while completing a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations with paid study time at TAFE.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of community facilities. As a Water Operations Trainee, you will work closely with our experienced team to gain a deep understanding of water treatment processes and network maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on water and wastewater treatment plants, assisting with daily operations and maintenance tasks
  • Participate in pump station maintenance and wastewater manhole inspections
  • Monitor dam and catchment surveillance to ensure optimal water quality

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A willingness to learn on the job and ask questions, coupled with an interest in maintaining and improving community facilities
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for effective teamwork and collaboration
  • A safety-conscious attitude, committed to working safely for yourself and others
  • A current Driver's License (Red P's or more)
  • The ability to commit to study requirements and complete training in a timely and organized way
