About the Role

As a Senior Technical Specialist – Server, you will provide high-level technical expertise across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments. You'll lead the planning, development, maintenance, and support of cloud services such as, Azure and Office 365 environments, server infrastructure, backup systems, storage, configuration deployment, SIEM, email, and database platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering complex ICT projects and system implementations
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues across diverse platforms
• Leading cyber security initiatives and contributing to eDiscovery functions
• Providing expert advice on ICT security, risk mitigation, and compliance
• Mentoring team members and promoting best practices in ICT service delivery
• Collaborating with internal teams, external providers, and government working groups

You'll work closely with the Technology Services Team and other PNSG units to ensure solutions meet business needs and align with cyber security standards such as the ACSC Essential Eight Maturity Model.

Special Conditions

This role has been classified as a position of trust. The incumbent is subject to a satisfactory criminal history / record check in line with departmental and Parliamentary policies and procedures.

The incumbent is required to:

• work on a roster system for on-call and after-hours support
• hold a current driver's license and be prepared to drive to meet business requirements
• refrain from any kind of political activity or involvement in electoral affairs
• maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive client information.
• Some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required.
• The incumbent will be required to participate in the Parliament's Performance Development Program and achieve performance targets as negotiated and mutually agreed with the Team Leader, Technology Services.
• The incumbent may be required to be assigned to other positions at the same remuneration level across the Parliament.

Remuneration

ASH7

37.5 hours per week

Overtime payable for out of hours work in addition to salary.
