About the Program

CatholicCare NT is a not-for-profit organisation, providing social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies across the Northern Territory. CatholicCare NT also delivers innovative youth programs focusing on social and emotional wellbeing, alcohol and drug use and mental health.

The aim of the Youth Enhanced Service (YES) Program is to provide culturally appropriate, evidence based psychological interventions for people with 'severe' mental illness. This program is designed to increase service access to support the chances of recovery and longer term social and emotional health and wellbeing. YES engages with young people, their families, and carers to improve their knowledge and understanding of the impact of mental illness

About the Role

The Case Worker Youth Mental Health is responsible for providing specialist mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, clinical review, and case presentations.

The position utilises skills and knowledge to work with participants, their families, and carers to develop recovery goals, and care plans within a set timeframe; all whilst ensuring a high standard of counselling, group work, case work and outreach support

What we are looking for

• Relevant qualification in Youth Mental Health, Social Work or related field with relevant experience
• Proven clinical skills in the provision of mental health care to young people, including mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, and care plan development
• Working knowledge of the common social and mental health issues faced by young people
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, report and case note writing
