About The Role
This is a customer-focused Service Desk role providing high-quality, first-line support across
Payroll, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Fleet
services at Uniting NSW.ACT.

Based in
Parramatta CBD
, this 12-month fixed-term opportunity offers a
hybrid working model
(three days in the office and two days working from home following an initial settling-in period).

You will be a key point of contact for Uniting staff and external vendors, responding to enquiries via our
1300 service lines
and digital platforms. Working as part of a high-performing, collaborative team, you will triage and resolve Tier 1 enquiries, ensuring issues are accurately logged and escalated to Tier 2 support where required.

This role suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, service-driven environment and takes pride in delivering a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service across multiple channels, including phone, face-to-face, and digital platforms
  • Act as the first point of contact for Payroll, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Fleet enquiries
  • Manage high volumes of inbound calls across Uniting's 1300 service lines in a professional and timely manner
  • Accurately record customer information and actions within electronic systems, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Log, manage, and action ESH tickets, escalating issues appropriately
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute ideas to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, internal customers, and external vendors
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge relevant to your role and services supported

Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience in Payroll, HR, or Finance, with demonstrated capability in resolving Tier 1 enquiries
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first mindset
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident computer skills and experience using client or data management systems
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with systems such as
Preceda, RosterOn, ServiceNow, Optim,a and WorkSmart Dynamics
is highly regarded.

Desirable

  • Experience in high-volume Payroll, HR, or Finance data entry
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a structured service environment
