About the Role

As a Building Surveyor at the City of Cockburn, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and integrity of the built environment within our community. This role involves assessing building applications, conducting site and compliance inspections, and issuing statutory certifications in line with the Building Act 2011, the Building Code of Australia, and other relevant legislation.

About you

You'll bring:

  • Registration (or eligibility) with the WA Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety

  • Knowledge of the Building Act 2011, Building Code of Australia, R-Codes, and relevant Australian Standards

  • Experience in statutory approvals, inspections, and compliance

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • WA Driver's Licence and Construction White Card (essential)

  • Local government experience and Level 1 or 2 registration (highly regarded)

Salary: Starting from Level 5 – 7, Step 1 – Step 4 ($93, $118,583.27 per annum) City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025 based on qualification and experience.

Hours: 38 hours per week, 9-day fortnight
